TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Fees:

1.1 Full payment is required to secure a place on any of The Makeup School courses. When booking, attendees will have to either pay in full for the course or make a non-refundable percentage deposit to reserve their place. The attendee’s place can not be guaranteed until full payment is received.

1.2 Those who have reserved a place by a percentage deposit will be required to pay the balance in full 4 weeks before the course. Balance payments will be taken by bank transfer. 

1.3 Discounts such as early bird discounts are at the discretion of TMS These discounts cannot be used in conjunction with the Taster Day offer should you wish to book another course.

1.4 Taster Day: The £200 is deducted should you enrol for the Silver Course or the Platinum Course. The offer is valid for 48hrs after the Taster Day is completed. 

2. Payment Method:

2.1 Fees can be paid by Paypal or Stripe via the website for UK and overseas residents.

2.2 The Makeup School is able to send out invoices to companies paying for the course.

3. Late Applications:

3.1 If there are any places available on the course, The Makeup School will accept bookings right up until the date the course commences.

3.2 Late applicants must pay full course price before the day The Makeup School course commences.

4. Overseas Applications:

4.1 Applicants paying from outside of the United Kingdom will be required to pay an additional £40 fee to cover additional administration costs.

4.2 Attendees must provide contact details of their residence in the UK prior to the course start date.

4.3 Attendees must ensure their place on the course is confirmed and that the course is running before making any travel arrangements. The Makeup School does not offer refunds for travel and accommodation (see condition 6.3 for further details).

4.4 If attendees can not be present at the course as the Visa has been delayed The Makeup School shall offer the opportunity to transfer onto a course at a later date. If the Visa application has been refused, no refund shall be offered.

4.5 The Makeup School courses are taught in English. Applicants whose first language is not English are required to be proficient in written and spoken English so that they are able to take part in group discussions and presentations during the course.

5. Cancellations by The Makeup School Attendee:

5.1 If full payment has been made we shall refund 50% of the course fee if at least 6 weeks’ notice is given. 

5.2 If you cancel your enrolment less than 30 days prior to the start date, no monies will be refunded. 

5.3 Deposits are non refundable or transferable

6. Cancellations by The Makeup School:

6.1 The Makeup School reserves the right to amend or cancel courses, change the course location, and substitute lecturers/tutors.

6.2 If The Makeup School cancels a course, we shall endeavour to give you at least one weeks’ notice. The attendee will be provided with the opportunity to transfer to another course, or receive a full refund of the fees.

6.3 The Makeup School will not be liable for any losses (including, but not limited to, travel and accommodation costs) arising as a consequence of any cancellation of courses, amendments or timetabling constraints as set out above and beyond the cost of the course fee.

6.4 Should The Makeup School need to postpone a class for reasons we are responsible (including, but not limited to, staff illness), we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the class or add the missed hours onto the remaining course classes.

7. Transferrals and Substitutions:

7.1 Attendees may transfer onto another course up to one month before the course start date. Only one transfer may be made by the The Makeup School attendee.

7.2 Transfer requests must be confirmed in writing to The Makeup School.

7.3 Attendees may not transfer onto another course once it has started.

7.4 If an attendee is unable to attend a course no substitutions can be made.

8. The Makeup School Attendees, Conduct and Attendance:

8.1 The Makeup School attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. All attendees are expected to co-operate with one another in order to further their training. If an attendee becomes persistently disruptive we reserve the right to ask the student to leave the course.

8.2 Due to copyright laws, the use of audio and/or visual recording is not permitted during any of the courses by attendees.

8.3 The Makeup School attendees are asked to wear appropriate footwear and clothing to practical classes. Attendees who fail to comply with this will be unable to participate in the practical courses.

8.4 Non-attendance of classes due to illness, personal reasons does not provide the right to a refund, extra tuition or transfer. The Makeup School will consider all the circumstances and take action that is considered to be fair and reasonable for all parties concerned.

8.5 The attendee may be required to pay additional charges for the alternative options that are provided.

8.6 Attendees that are unable to arrive to the school should notify The Makeup School before 9:00AM. Unpunctuality is unacceptable on any of the courses. If you are late more than once you will be issued with a warning, after this if lateness continues you will be removed with immediate effect. Continued lateness causes disruption to the course & other students.

8.7 If you fail to attend any of the days without good reason this will result in the rest of the course being cancelled. 

8.8 If you leave the course during course hours for any reason without consulting a team member this results in immediate expulsion. 

9. Materials and Equipment:

9.1 The Makeup School course fee includes the cost of basic materials which will be provided.

9.2 The Makeup School courses will provide attendees with a makeup kit for the duration of the course. These materials will remain the property of The Makeup School post course completion.

9.3 Only attendees of the 5 Day Intensive Course will receive a complimentary brush set to keep. Attendees of the Mini Weekend course will not receive the brush set.

10. Certificates:

10.1 To achieve a certificate from The Makeup School attendees must be present 100% of the duration of each course and demonstrate progression in their study of makeup artistry. Attendees that comply with this will be presented with a certificate at the end of the course. The name given on the booking form will be the one that appears on the certificate. If the attendee misses the last session due to reasons for which The Makeup School is not responsible, a replacement certificate can be sent via a postal service. If for any reason the student does not receive a certificate, then a replacement shall be sent once their attendance has been confirmed by the course tutor.

12. Force Majeure:

11.1 The Makeup School shall not be liable for any failure or delay of the performance of the courses arising from or attributable to acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond reasonable control including, but not limited to strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes (whether involving The Makeup School’s workforce or the workforce of any other party); act of God; war; riot; civil unrest; malicious damage; compliance with any legal or governmental order, rule regulation or direction; accident; breakdown of plant or machinery; fire, flood, storm, volcanic ash; pandemics, epidemics or other outbreaks of disease of infection; failure in the public supply of electricity, heating, lighting, air conditioning or telecommunications equipment. 

12.1 The Makeup School courses will be held at Loft Studios, 77- 81 Scrubs Lane, London NW10 6QW. This location will be verified in the attendees’ booking confirmation letter.For more information contact: contact@themakeupschool.co.uk
